Items not permitted in the British museum include large bags heavier than 8 kg, wheeled cases, folding bicycles, and more. Visit the British Museum website for a full list of prohibited items

Know in advance:

Scan the QR code on your voucher to download the app and audio guide prior to arrival
Pushchairs are permitted on-site. Fold-up prams and buggies can be left free of charge in the cloakroom

It is strongly recommended to bring an umbrella or raincoat, which can be checked at the British Museum for a fee. Cloakroom fees include: coats £2, bags up to 4 kg £2.50, bags 4-8 kg £5, umbrellas £1
