Explore the historical centre of Avignon on a 3-hour walking tour with your English-speaking guide.
You'll be climbing up to the top of the fortified medieval city walls, discovering Avignon stretching in all its beauty along the Rhône river. Discover the rich historical past of the city where the papacy established in the early 14th century. You'll also enjoy skip-the-line access and follow the guide inside the Pope's Palace, the largest Gothic-styled Palace in Europe. In this maze of galleries, chambers and chapels, imagine its luxurious furnishing and sumptuous decoration from the medieval period.
While walking on the cobbled streets to the Place de l'Horloge, find out about the secret of the painted windows. Admire the Town Hall topped with its clock tower, and the theatre. Your tour will end up with a glass of Côtes du Rhône wine served in a historical place, mostly known by the locals.

- The walking tour in Avignon is operated only in English
- You must be able to walk over paved streets, and climb a series of steps to reach the Pope's palace
- Tours are operated for a minimum of 2 passengers, however bookings for solo travellers are accepted. If the solo traveller remains the only passenger booked for a departure, the local tour operator will contact the passenger the day before the tour in order to offer an alternative tour or date. If the passenger refuses the alternative suggestion, he will be fully refunded
- The tour operator cannot be held responsible for delays due to traffic conditions, weather, accidents incurred while entering or exiting the vehicle or for robbery of personal effects or luggage
