Discover the beauty of Meteora in a unique way with our Meteora hiking tour and have the chance to experience nature at its finest while enjoying some of the most captivating views of the area.
The tour begins at the foothills of Doupiani Rock, beneath the old ruins of the Pantokrator monastery. From there, your experienced guide will take you through hidden trails and majestic rock formations, where you'll witness the stunning scenery of the area and learn about its fascinating history.
Along the way, you'll visit the hidden monastery of Ypapanti (only open Monday to Friday for hikers) and the ruins of St. Dimitrios, while listening to stories and legends behind each place you pass. You'll then visit one of the most impressive monasteries, either Great Meteoron or Varlaam, where you can learn about the cultural and religious significance of these ancient buildings. Finally, you'll walk down the old footpath that the monks used for centuries, before the construction of roads.
Join this guided hiking tour which will take you on a journey back in time, following the footsteps of the first monks who arrived here more than 15 centuries ago.
