City Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus tour of Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is a Greek port city that used to be part of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires. It is the second largest city in Greece and has a long, rich history. There are many monuments to see that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List including mosaics that are considered unique masterpieces of early Christian art. At the church of Agios Dimitrios you will find one of the most famous examples.

This 15th-century Ottoman tower stands right on the waterfront and is without a doubt the city's most famous landmark. From the tower's balcony you have a fantastic view of the bay. Not far from the Lefkós Pýrgos within walking distance along pleasant promenade, you will find Thessaloniki's most photographed work of art: Zongolopoulos' paparplums. Another must-go-to spot along the Sightseeing bus route is Ano Poli, the "upper city" of Thessaloniki around the Acropolis. It is the only district that survived the Great Fire of 1917 and one of the most beautiful places in the city. Walking through the old streets and alleys, you'll spot traditional architecture everywhere and some stunning views await you as well. The upper part of the old city is a nice climb but well worth the effort, because here stands the Heptapyrgion - the citadel of Byzantine origin that overlooks the city.
