Sneek is a lively water sports town, but there's more to Sneek! The town is richly endowed with old monuments and townscapes, has several museums, a pleasant and varied shopping area, and is full of sidewalk cafés, bars, and restaurants.
On this tour, you will discover many attractions of this town. Your tour will start at Market street – the heart of the old Sneek and a former marketplace, and continue on Schaapmarktplein, a picturesque plaza with little cafés and shops. There you'll see the symbol of Sneek, the Watergate built in 1613. Don't miss Saint Martinus church, the neo-Gothic cruciform church designed by Mr. Pierre Cuypers, who also created the facade of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
The tour will lead you back to Market street, where you'll discover the Town Hall, which has one of the most attractive rococo fronts in the north of Holland. Get ready to fall in love with the town of Sneek!
