You will marvel at the monuments carved into the pink rock face by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago and explore their extraordinary engineering skills.Get ready to enter the town from going through a 1-kilometer gorge which is the main entrance, the Siq, to the ancient city of Petra and see the dazzling colors and rock formations up close. Catch your first sight of the temple of Al Khazneh and let the natural beauty of the valley and its architectural wonders sink in and take your breath away. Discover hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs with intricate carvings, a colossal theater, the sacrificial altars and amazing streets of colonnades. Enjoy panoramic views from the impressive Ad Deir Monastery and get an insight into Petra’s colorful past at the Petra Archaeological Museum and Petra Nabataean Museum. You can also purchase souvenirs made by artisans from Wadi Musa and visit a nearby area where Bedu communities live.
