The best way to learn about a culture is through the local food! Cachupa is the national dish and a must try when visiting the Cape Verdean islands. This cooking.
You'll start the cooking. You'll discover all sorts of new vegetables and find out how the locals cook. Begin with cutting vegetables, prepare fish, meat and wash corn and beans. While the ingredients are simmering it's time for the city tour. You'll explore the streetmarkets where the cahcupa ingredients are sold and visit the lively area Ribeira Bote. Life here is different than in the regular city centre and shows the authentic Cape Verde.
Time to head back, plate the meals and enjoy a tasty, homemade Cachupa!
