Start by experiencing the Hongi, the traditional Māori greeting where you press noses and foreheads with another person, symbolizing the sharing of life’s breath. Feel the energy of the powerful Haka, performed by passionate local descendants in traditional attire, bringing to life the stories of the land through movement and expression.
Explore the Winter Gardens' rare plant collections, displayed beautifully in two Victorian-style glasshouses that change with the seasons, each showcasing New Zealand's natural beauty. Your guide will also introduce you to traditional Māori musical instruments, dances, and games, just as they've been passed down for generations.
As a special touch, begin your tour with a Karakia (prayer) led by your guide, then enjoy a delicious pre-packed picnic lunch, where you’ll learn the Māori practice of sharing kai (food) as a sign of community.
