It has seen Portuguese, Dutch, English and French domination, each leaving their mark on its architecture. The contrast between the sombre slave-quarters and the elegant houses of the slave traders is striking.

Your exploration begins with a climb up to Castel via the Baobabs alley, where you'll be rewarded with a view of Dakar from the Memorial of Slaves. Before having lunch, you'll also explore the Senegal Historical Museum.

Your journey ends with a visit to the House of the Slaves Museum and the Saint Charles Church. This excursion promises scenic beauty but also a dive into the colonial past of this island.
