Without a single doubt, the Pilatos Palace is a reference for the Sevillian Holy week. A palace that wanted to be a competitor with the Alcazar, not only in beauty but also in power. According to the legend, Don Fadrique, one of the palace owner’s, in the XVI century, after travelling to Holy Land realized the distance from his parents' palace to the Cruzdelcampo Cross was exactly the same one as the one from Pilato's Palace in Jerusalem to the Golgotha mountain. As he was a very strong believer, he thought it could not be a coincidence, and he started a Via Crucis with the different Stations to get to the Cross. In the palace you will discover amazing collections of art, ceramic tiles and wonderful gardens.
Then you will continue to the district of the Alfalfa, with intricate narrow streets in what it was once the Medina. You will arrive to the Salvador’s church, from where several Brotherhoods start the processions during Holy Week. It is the second-largest church in town. It was built on the former Mosque remains, in fact you can still admire its XII century minaret. The works of art as The Christ of Passion or the Christ of Love by Juan de Mesa and Martínez Montañez will touch you somehow.
