Your journey begins at Thien Mu Pagoda, a historic gem nestled along the banks of the Perfume River. After exploring this iconic site, you will enjoy a leisurely boat ride back to Hue city centre, soaking in the serene views. Once you disembark, you will proceed to the Hue Citadel, the city’s most renowned landmark. Initiated by Emperor Gia Long in 1805, this expansive complex includes the Imperial City, several museums, tranquil lakes, and beautifully landscaped gardens, all arranged in concentric circles.
Next, you will visit the Tomb of Tu Duc, a magnificent resting place for the longest-reigning monarch of the Nguyen Dynasty (1848-1883). Emperor Tu Duc meticulously planned his final resting place long before his passing, with the tomb completed in 1867.
After enjoying a delicious lunch, you will venture into the local villages. Sinh Village, also known as Lai An Village, is celebrated for its vibrant folk painting industry. You will then explore Truc Chi Garden, which encapsulates the essence of traditional craftsmanship. The final stop will be the incense village, where skilled artisans preserve the art of making incense. You will also get the opportunity to witness the creation of Bai Tho palm-leaf conical hats.
