Your Golden Circle visit starts at the Geysir geothermal area where you will see the geyser Strokkur shoot a column of water up to 30 metres into the air every 4-8 minutes. Your next stop is Gullfoss, a step waterfall created by the glacial river Hvítá which tumbles and plunges into a 32-metre deep crevice.
You will also visit the historical and geological wonder that is Þingvellir National Park, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimetres per year. Additionally, you will visit the Friðheimar greenhouse cultivation centre where you will learn about growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes with the aid of geothermal heat which Iceland has in abundance.
Once you've completed the Golden Circle tour, it is time to explore the city. This experience includes a 24-hour ticket to the Reykjavik Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus which can be done on the date and time of your choice.
