Your adventure begins at the designated meeting point where you'll meet your guide and board the transport. The journey takes you to the mountainous Hida region in Gifu Prefecture, home to the beautifully preserved city of Hida Takayama.
Upon arrival, a stroll down Sannomachi Street offers a taste of local delicacies such as Hida beef and Takayama ramen, while showcasing the work of local craftsmen. You'll then visit one of the morning markets - either Miyagawa Market or Jinya-Mae Market - for an authentic glimpse into local life. Your guide will also recommend top spots for lunch (not included).
Post-lunch, the tour heads to Gasyomura in Shiragawa-go, a place renowned for its scenic mountains, paddy fields, and trickling rivers. Here, you'll understand why Shiragawa-go is known as the kingdom of forests and streams, and learn about the origin of its name, Shirokawa-go, meaning "the white river."
The next stop is the Ogimachi Castle Site Observatory, offering beautiful views of Gassho-mura village and Mount Hakusan. There's also time to visit the Ochiudo café, known for its large dogs, decorative coffee cups, and snacks. Finally, the tour concludes with a return journey to Nagoya.
