During this tour, you'll see in detail some fascinating places of Armenia, and you'll hear some captivating stories.
On the shores of the high-altitude Lake Sevan, which is the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region, you'll have the opportunity to pause at Sevanavank Monastery. This monastery, founded in 874 AD by Princess Mariam, daughter of Ashot king, is situated on a peninsula at the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan. It is worth noting that the water level of the lake dropped approximately 20 meters due to the artificial draining initiated by Joseph Stalin, resulting in the transformation of the island into a peninsula.
Your journey will then continue to Dilijan, a charming forested city renowned for its spa resorts and traditional craft workshops. Enveloped by the lush forests of Dilijan National Park, this town offers a serene atmosphere that will undoubtedly captivate you.
ITINERARY
- Pick up from your location
- Drive to Sevan Lake
- Small hike up to the top of Sevan's Peninsula to visit the Sevanavank Monastery
- Dilijan forested city, called the "Armenian Switzerland" by locals
- Traditional lunch at a restaurant in Dilijan
- Goshavank Monastery
- Continue to drive to Georgia - Armenia border (Sadakhlo Crossing Point)
- Drop off in Tbilisi
