Cultural Dining Experience with a Local Family in Kotu
Engaging with a local family over a meal is an enriching cultural food experience. Each encounter is personal, involving only your group and the local family.
Upon meeting the local family and enjoying your welcome drink, you'll have the opportunity to assist in preparing the meal. Or, if you prefer, you can simply observe, jot down notes, and capture memories through photographs. Just relax and savour the moment.
All local families speak at least basic English, providing you with the chance to converse and gain insights about daily life in their country. Feel free to discuss anything you're curious about with your host family, including sharing aspects of your own culture and homeland. Most local families are genuinely interested in learning about diverse cultures.

Know in advance:
- A minimum of 2 adults is required for this activity
- On the terrace, you’ll find many shoes. It is customary to take off your shoes before entering a house
- Clothes should respect the local culture and not show too much skin
- The local family will invite you to help with the preparations of your meal
- It is recommended to discuss when you or the local family want to take pictures (and/or post them on social media). Most of the time, everyone is fine with it
