Step into the heart of Amsterdam and discover one of the world's oldest zoos, ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo. This historic gem is a treasure trove of natural wonders where you can witness giraffes, zebras, and kudus cohabiting on the Savannah, or be captivated by the flutter of wings in the Butterfly Pavilion. Take a moment to appreciate the new lion enclosure. Then, wander through the botanical garden, breath in the scent of colourful, fragrant flowers before resting at one of the vegetarian restaurants.
Embark on an interstellar journey within the Planetarium, before exploring the renewed ARTIS-Groote Museum. Here, interactive installations invite you to ponder life's big questions and uncover surprising similarities between yourself and nature.

- Infants (age 0-2) can enter the Zoo for free
- Children (age 0-12) can enter the Museum for free
- ARTIS-Groote Museum is located on the Artisplein, next to the Chilean flamingos
- ARTIS-Groote Museum is open daily: 10.00am-5.00pm. The opening time is extended until 10 pm on Thursdays
- ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo is open daily including holidays:
- 1 November to 28 February: From 9.00am - 5.00pm
- 1 March to 31 October: From 9.00am - 6.00pm
- During the holidays, adjusted opening hours apply to both locations:
- 24, 25, 26 December 9 am - 5 pm
- 31 December 9 am - 4 pm
- 1 January 10 am - 5 pm
