Waitomo Glowworm Cave Tour with Boat Ride
Learn New Zealand's tiny glowing creatures called “Arachnocampa Luminosa” that radiate their luminescent light all around the Waitomo Grotto. The tour starts by picking you up from your hotel in Auckland Central Business District (CBD) to go to South Auckland and into the Waikato region.
Once you arrive, you can spend about 30 minutes at the gift shop and grab a drink or something to eat at the Waitomo Homestead. Then, your guide will take you on an hour tour inside the Waitomo Glowworm Cave. Learn the history of the cave and find out more about the glowing worms and the formations you see inside. To continue with the tour, you’ll ride on a flat bottom boat that will glide through the Waitomo river as you gaze silently at the sparkling worms.
When the tour ends, you will be dropped off back at your hotel in Auckland CBD.
