The Aare Gorge was formed during the last Ice Age as the Aare River carved its way through the limestone rock. With towering cliffs that reach heights of up to 200 metres, the gorge stretches about 1.4 kilometres. Accessibility:
- The Aare Gorge is accessible for narrower pushchairs from the west entrance up to the main attractions in the middle of the gorge. In case of large numbers of visitors, access with wheelchairs and prams may be restricted for safety reasons
- Dogs are welcome in the Aare Gorge on a short leash and free of charge

- When both entrances are open, you can pass through the entire length of the gorge
- Opening hours: 12.04.2025 - 06.06.2025 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm 07.06. â 14.09.2025 from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm 15.09. â 02.11.2025 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
