In the pedestrian area of the Old Town, three of the most important historic sights lie within a 10 minutes walking distance: the medieval Town Hall "Römer“ on the picturesque "Römerberg“-Square, the Kaiserdom (Imperial Cathedral), and Paulskirche (St. Paul’s Church), the cradle of German democracy. Not far from there is the pilgrimage spot for romantic literature buffs from all over the world: the baroque Goethehaus, the place of birth of Germany’s national poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
