About experience the unique landscape and history of Mt Tarawera. Infamous for its eruption on June 10th, 1886, Mt. Tarawera created the world’s youngest geothermal valley of Waimangu, at the same destroying the legendary Pink and White Terraces. This fully guided hiking experience encompasses the unique landscape and history of the area. Each journey begins with an off road 4x4 experience through native New Zealand bush, transporting you to the craters edge. With spectacular scenic vistas and 360 panoramic views this experience is ideal for all ages and includes an optional run into the heart of the volcanic crater.

- Participants age under 7 years old are not allowed to join this tour
- A maximum number of participants is 15
- It is recommended to bring your sturdy walking shoes, bottle of water, sunscreen (summer) , woolen hat /gloves/scarf (winter)
- Pickup is available from all central Rotorua accommodation and the Rotorua information Centre
