The Vasco da Gama Aquarium, located at the gates of Lisbon, is not only an Aquarium, it is also a Museum. A Museum born of a prince's dream and his ambition to know the depths of the ocean.
Visit to board the Yacht Amelia, belonging to the Portuguese royal family, sailing along the coast of Sesimbra in the company of the then King of Portugal, Carlos I. Be immersed in the ship's logbook. Then, go on a journey from there to the aquarium which will feel like you're between the depths of the sea and its slopes.
By the end, you'll have experienced one of the oldest museum aquariums in the world. Plus, a historical heritage that promotes Portuguese aquatic life and has the private King Carlos I oceanographic collection.
