Your local guide will take you on a walking tour of the most royal part of London and provide background information about the palace and the royal family. You'll learn about the magnificent St James's Palace, built by Henry VIII, that used to be the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II. Visit St James's Park, once home to the royal zoo, the Mall, built to resemble a giant red carpet leading up to the Palace, and pass by Clarence House, also a Royal palace and home to King Charles and Queen Camilla.

After your relaxing walking tour, you’ll have the chance to visit the inside of Buckingham Palace which only opens its doors to visitors for two months a year. This is where Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II extends a royal welcome to visitors, boasting lavish apartments, sparkling chandeliers, and sumptuous furnishings. These rooms house some of the greatest treasures of the Royal Collection.

By the Duke of York Column, Waterloo Place. This is the tall column with the statue on top. If you are arriving by tube, take the tube to Piccadilly Circus and take exit No. 3 onto Regent Street/St James. Walk south down Regent Street towards St James Park (do not walk north towards Oxford Street). Waterloo Place is at the end of Regent Street. You will see the tall column with a statue on top. If you arrive at Charing Cross Station, walk down the Mall towards Buckingham Palace. You will see the statue on your right at the top of some steps.
