You can also choose to follow the historic route, the Old Fall River Road, where the earliest visitors used to drive on. The Trail Ridge Road, between Estes Park and Grand Lake, is 49 miles (78 km) one way and takes about 2 hours, plus time for stopping at the recommended viewpoints and places of interest. There are options for other short drives in the Park, including Bear Lake and the Old Fall River Road
