Admire the Terracotta Warriors and Horses which is a must-see attraction in Xi'an. Life-size terracotta figures arranged in battle formations are the star features at the museum. See the replicas of what the imperial guard should look like. The museum covers an area of 16,300 square meters, divided into three sections: No. 1 Pit, No. 2 Pit, and No. 3 Pit respectively.
Start with No. 1 Pit which is the largest. It was first opened to the public on China's National Day - Oct. 1st, 1979. See columns of soldiers at the front, followed by war chariots at the back. Then, head to No. 2 Pit, discovered in 1976, which contains over a thousand warriors and 90 wood chariots. It was unveiled to the public in 1994. Visit No. 3 Pit which looks like the command center of the armed forces with its 68 warriors, a war chariot and four horses.
