What to expect

Graffiti is an ancient system of drawing and writing that can be traced back to antiquity and the Stone Age. Modern graffiti style writing has its origins in Philadelphia and New York. It is no secret. Today, Berlin is considered the graffiti capital of Europe. Berlin provides huge murals, paste-ups, tape art and fantastic graffiti. You'll learn a lot about this secret art scene.

The graffiti scene has its own rules and laws. At the Mauerpark graffiti workshop, you will become a graffiti sprayer yourself. You will learn the typical terms and tools used by writers and become a real graffiti writer for a while. After a first exciting insight into the "styles", we will move on to the theory of letters and make our first sketches on paper together. After an introduction to using the spray can/can, you can get started yourself. Your workshop leaders will show you all the techniques on the wall and help you to paint your own "graffiti piece" with the spray can. Graffiti is an expression of the urban attitude to life. On the wall, you can get away from everyday life with a spray can in your hand, immerse yourself in this art and experience this feeling of freedom for a few hours.
