The 18th century Palazzo Braschi, in the heart of Renaissance and Baroque Rome, is home to the Museum of Rome. It is the most significant institution for the knowledge of social history and artistic activities in Rome from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century.
Since then, the original historical-documentary vocation has evolved in favour of the artistic valorization of the Museum which consists of a collection of about 120,000 objects, including paintings, sculptures, prints, photographs and clothes.
Also for this reason, considering the quantity and nature of the materials in the collection, the new exhibition - inaugurated on 28 March 2017 - follows a thematic rather than chronological path within the exhibition rooms, now located on the second and third floor of the building. The first floor, instead, is intended for temporary exhibitions that will help to increase public knowledge of the place and the museum, enriching the Roman cultural offer with events of great appeal, aimed at facilitating the meeting of different audiences within the Museum.
Don't miss visiting one gem into the historical centre of Rome: Palazzo Patrizi.
