What to expect
Today, you'll head out on the water in search of some of the area's dolphins and whales. After meeting your tour escort at the port, you'll take a short drive over to the marina where your catamaran will be waiting. Before setting sail, you'll get to know the crew of professional marine experts. And on the way out of Taranto, you'll pass by some of the city's most popular attractions. Keep an eye out for the 700-year-old San Domenico Church and Aragonese Castle - a waterfront fort that's stood here since 1481. The waters in this part of Italy are home to a few well known faces in the water world, including bottlenose dolphins, sperm whales and killer whales, so you've got a good chance of spotting something. Plus, you'll be able to learn about the area and the marine life while chatting with the crew.
