What to expect

When mentioning Struga, people often refer to it as the North Macedonian city of poetry and bridges because the world's largest poetry gathering is held here. Known as the Struga Poetry Evenings, this event attracts laureates including several Nobel Prize winners in Literature.

Your tour starts in the morning when your driver and local guide will pick you up. Your first stop will be at the local market in the heart of Struga. There you can taste different products which are produced in the gardens of local residents. After visiting the river formation and the city center, you'll enter the Nezlobinski Museum, where you'll witness a unique representation of the flora and fauna heritage of the Ohrid region.

Your journey continues towards the self-proclaimed independent region of Vevchani, where you'll discover the reasons why the people here proclaim themselves independent. At first, you'll cool down and quench your thirst at the colorful springs of Vevchani, where the water flows fresh from the mountains. Then you'll have free time to explore this idyllic and proud village and taste a local meal at the famous Kutmichevica restaurant while enjoying the view of the village and valley.
