Find out about the oldest country estate of Amstelveen, the area just south of Amsterdam situated on the Amstel River. This tour will lead you through the park and garden of this estate, letting you take in the laid-back mood of the surroundings and breathe some fresh air while listening to interesting stories about generations of the family having lived in this estate.
Discover how different approaches were taken by different owners: walk along the Oak and Chestnut Lanes, planted by the members of the family, and see for yourself how Dutch gardeners strived to make their lanes resemble a temple. Marvel at the Beef Beech, a gorgeous tree dear to the family that survived World War II.
The local gardens will amaze you with the palette of scents and colors they have to offer. See the Diving Lady in the middle of the lake of the Berry Garden as you walk, or just sit and relax wherever you please. Visit the Stinzentuin, the most unique and special garden whose rare flowers start blooming straight in January! The Kitchen Garden lets you gaze at vegetables in bloom, whereas the Butterfly Garden lures you with the number of precious butterflies to get up close to as your final highlight of the tour!
