The mound was constructed between 1820 and 1823 to honor Tadeusz Kościuszko, who played a significant role in various military conflicts, including the American Revolutionary War and the Kościuszko Uprising in Poland. Kościuszko Mound is a popular walking destination and an excellent vantage point. In good weather, you can see the Tatra Mountains, 100 km away, from its summit!
