What to expect

Join this private guided tour and discover Chiang Rai and its beautiful temples such as the White Temple!

Start your tour with pickup from your hotel lobby and depart to Chiang Rai by road (3 hours drive) along picturesque scenic routes passing several beautiful northern mountains. Arrive in Chiang Rai and visit the White Temple (Rong Khun Temple). It was designed by a famous national artist. The main temple building is a distinctive white color, decorated with fragments of reflective glass that can be seen from afar. Your next stop will be the Emerald Temple (Phra Kaew Temple). Here, the Emerald Buddha image was once enshrined, now the temple houses a jade Buddha image which was made to commemorate the 90th birthday of the late Princess Mother.

At lunchtime, you will enjoy a meal at the local restaurant. Then, continue to the Blue Temple (Rong Sued Ten Temple), also designed by the local Chiang Rai artist. The main temple building is a distinctive blue color with the new philosophy of Buddhist art. The last stop of the tour will be at the Black House (Baandum Museum). Here, you will see the artworks from a national artist who is celebrated for his eerie sculptures made from horns and bones, reptile skins, traditional African sculptures, old boats, Lanna-style woodcrafts, and art installations housed across 32 buildings, most of which are Lanna-style pavilions made from black wood.

In the late evening, you will be dropped off again at your accommodation in Chiang Mai.
