What to expect

This private day tour of Cardiff is the perfect tour for anyone who wants to quickly get to know that Welsh capital. Together with a local Cardiffian (someone from Cardiff), you'll visit Cardiff Castle, St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff Bay, and more!

Starting at the oldest building in Cardiff, Cardiff Castle, you'll discover how the Welsh capital has changed through various conquests and occupations, and how it was first used as a Roman Fort. Now a stunning neo-gothic Victorian masterpiece built for the 3rd Marquis of Bute, you will learn how the Marquis and his ancestors generated their fortune from the south Wales coal fields to become the richest men of their day.

After visiting the castle, your guide will show you around the stunning streets and amazing covered arcades that Cardiff is renowned for before taking you to the National Gallery of Wales which houses some of the most impressive impressionist art anywhere in the world!

After exploring the city of Cardiff, you will head off to a unique museum – St Fagans which is home to, well, homes! It is a museum of domestic and work buildings that have been saved and persevered from all over Wales.

The final stop of the tour is the beautiful Cardiff Bay, home to the Senedd (the Welsh Parliament), the Wales Millennium Centre, and Roald Dahl Plas, named after the famous children’s author who was born in the city in 1916.
