Visit Salisbury Cathedral. A unique building amongst medieval English cathedrals, built within one century with no substantial later additions. Admire the beautiful outside building which is a testimony to the faith and practical skills of those who erected it.
Inside the cathedral, you can study the original Magna Carta on display in a new interactive exhibition. Written in 1215, the Magna Carta was issued by King John of England and stated that everybody, including the king, was subject to the law.
Another thing not to miss is the oldest working medieval clock in the world. Made in 1386 of hand-wrought iron and originally installed in the detached Bell Tower. Finally make sure to climb the spire of Salisbury Cathedral, with 123m the tallest in England. 700 years ago the building of the spire marked a revolution in cathedral architecture.
