‘Sunwapta' is the Stoney Indian term for ‘turbulent river' and this river lives up to its name. With a steep gradient and numerous rapids, this is Jasper's wild water rollercoaster ride. You'll raft the only class 3 rapids located fully within Jasper National Park and enjoy spectacular scenery and good wildlife opportunities.
Important to know
- Rafting difficulty: Class 3
- Rafters on Class 3 rivers must weigh a minimum of 90 lb/41 kg
- This tour does not require any previous experience and is suited for physically active individuals
- The minimum age is 12 years old
- Minors (under age 18) must be accompanied by an adult on the river
- The rafts can accommodate 6 to 8 passengers
- This tour operates in all weather conditions
- If the minimum of passengers is not reached, the tour will be canceled and you will be offered a refund or reschedule
- The exact tour duration is subject to variations due to traffic conditions
