  • Listen to the explanations of your aurora expert guide
  • Explore the Lappish wilderness at night at 3 different locations
  • Enjoy a typical Finnish snack around the fire

What to expect

After pick up from your accommodation and properly dressed with professional winter overalls and boots (temperature can drop to -30C!), your professional guide will drive straight out to the wilderness to start hunting for the Aurora.

Based on the analysis of the meteorological situation and on experience, you will visit locations that will offer the best chance to see the northern lights. This can means that your guide will take you up to 100km away. Your guide will keep checking the weather conditions so you might jump back in the minivan together to visit another location.

During the drive, your guide will lead you past some fantastic sceneries. You can take a short walk through the old, white and snowy forest or to the top of some fells, you can visit a hanging wooden bridge over powerful rapids, enjoy the silence on a lake beach or stand in the middle of an immensity of ice and snow. Hopefully, with Auroras dancing over your heads!

This tour operates most of the time in complete darkness, this way your eyes get time to adjust to the dark. Not only do your eyes adjust (you actually see better in the dark!) but will you see the sceneries in a completely new and beautiful way.

Enjoy a little break where your guide will teach you how to lit a fire in the traditional way, without matches or lighter, Once the fire is lit and the kettle is boiling, your guide will tell you about the forest, the nature of Lapland and its wildlife, and naturally the northern lights. Enjoy a hot beverage to warm you up, grill your own sausages over the open fire and enjoy your snack with famous Finnish mustard.

During the whole tour, your guide will take as many pictures as possible with a professional camera. The next day you can download the images through a link send to you by email.
