Day Hike in Nightingale Valley to Manolates Village
Northern Samos is a hiker's paradise of sweeping valleys, vineyards and shady forests. You'll join a guided walk from the start point below the village of Vourliotes across the River Kakorema to the picturesque village of Manolates – a full day's hillside walking at its very best.
Before setting off, you'll meet with the guide for a briefing, then it's time to hit the trail. You'll take the path across Nightingale Valley, winding its way between aromatic vineyards and eventually crossing the bubbling River Kakorema. Afterwards, the trail continues to the mountainside village of Manolates through a cool shady forest.
In Manolates village we'll stop for an hour to discover the artists' workshops and if you like you can have lunch in one of the tavernas. Then we'll head downhill into Platanakia – the largest plane tree forest in Samos, from where we'll be picked up for the return transfer.
