What to expect
The summit of Mount Batur is the best seat in Bali to watch the sunrise. Climb the slopes of this UNESCO Geopark with a private guide exclusively for you and your party. Jaw-dropping views greet you at the summit, from where you'll watch daybreak across a sweeping valley framed by Mount Agung – the island's tallest peak.
It's an early start, but some things are worth getting out of bed for. Your guide will accompany you as you climb Mount Batur, and tell you about the geological history of the volcano on the two-hour trek to the summit. Once there, you'll be rewarded with sensational views and a snack. Then you'll have time to take a rest while you wait for nature's show to begin.
With grandstand views of the lake and the valley, sit back as the sun rises over the peak of Mount Agung. On a clear day, you'll see the sunrise reflected in the sea, and you might even spot Lombok island in the distance. Often there is lots of mist below, and the pre-dawn climb can be quite chilly. Once the sun is up, you'll head back down the mountain to rest those tired legs with a well-deserved dip in the hot springs of Toya Bungkah.
