What to expect

Walk along the Via Sacra, immerse yourself in Roman history, and reach the temple, which houses the altar where Julius Caesar was cremated. Visitors still leave flowers and candles at the site to this day.

Start your experience at the local partner's office, where you'll enjoy a 25-minute multimedia video about ancient Rome. Then, visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum and learn all about their history from your professional guide. Immerse yourself in Roman history. Once inside the Colosseum, your expert guide will teach you about the amphitheater's bloody past, with tales of gladiators, mock sea battles, and executions.

Then, take a journey through Vatican City’s highlights. Explore the Vatican Museums and see the spectacular Sistine Chapel. This excursion into the Vatican’s legendary art and architecture starts at the Vatican Museums. Your guide will lead you to the best galleries to see frescoes, statues, tapestries, and historical maps. You will also find the Borgia apartment, the Pinacoteca Vaticana, and the beautiful Vatican Library.

Continue to the Sistine Chapel to admire masterpieces by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Pinturicchio, and Perugino. Then, you’ll ascend Bernini’s Royal Staircase, a masterwork of architectural achievement rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries.

  • This experience is composed of 2 guided tours: the date selected refers to the guided tour of the archaeological area of the Colosseum. At the meeting point, the staff will help you to book the guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
  • The Vatican is closed on Sundays and during religious holidays
  • A moderate amount of walking is involved
  • For safety reasons, the Colosseum can accommodate up to 3.000 people at once. This could lead to delays in access to the site, even for pre-booked visitors
  • For security reasons, all visitors and their luggage shall be screened. To facilitate the security checks please insert any object (including mobile phone) in a small bag/backpack or in the tray to be included in the X-ray
  • This experience includes the Colosseum ticket price (17,00 €) and a reservation fee (2,00 €). The difference is for the other services
