What to expect
From the middle of the fifteenth century, the nobles and the wealthy of Venice had servants known as 'codega' who would be equipped with lanterns to enlighten paths in the darkness of the night, delighting them with anecdotes and stories.
Just like those times, your own personal escort will guide you through the labyrinth of mysteries surrounding the lagoon. A leap into the past that will inspire you to be the actors in your own scenes, leading you into the heart of the life of the 'Serenissima' (Venice).
You will learn all about Casanova and the Levantine, about the gondolier that became a priest and about the elephant that found shelter in a church. You'll listen to stories about the angel who was made a palace guardian and why the bridge between two convents is called 'The Devil's Bridge'. You'll also find out about the secret language of the Venetian fans and about the legends of a number of ghosts that are said to live in Venice.

Venice Tours Office is in Campo San Gallo, San Marco 1093/B, beside San Marco Square. Having the Basilica of San Marco behind you, stay on the right side of the square and go under the arches. Find Olivetti Museum, turn right, pass under the archways, cross the little bridge and go straight to “Campo San Gallo”.AL TOUR”. Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the departure time.
