What to expect
Sail to discover the fascinating islands of the Venetian lagoon, get enchanted by their stories and settings suspended between the past and the present with the help of our audio guides.
Start from Punta Sabbioni, travel towards Murano where the making of artistic glass still takes place today at the hands of skilled craftsmen. Take part in a demonstration by a Master Glass Blower inside a real furnace, which preserves and passes on the artistic and technical heritage of this ancient art. Spend 1 hour, in which the audio guide will lead you to discover the monuments and iconic places of the island: the lighthouse, Palazzo da Mula, the churches of San Pietro Martire and Santa Maria e San Donato and, finally, the Glass Museum. Search for the lampposts in love, they’re said to bring luck in love.
Then sail to Burano, an old fishing village worldwide famous for its colourful houses, the lace production and the pastry making. You will be given 1 hour of free time: you can get lost in the streets and squares of Burano, trying to capture the best shots of the colourful houses, or you can follow the route given by the audio guide, which will allow you to visit historical places and magical places such as the House of Bepi Suà.
Admire the crooked bell tower and be tempted by the typical pastry shops, where you can taste the biscuits "Bussolà" and "Esse".
Finally, catch the boat to return and finish your journey at the tour starting point.
Important to know
Extra fees to be paid on site:
- On some days between the 15th of April 2024 and the 14th of July 2024, every visitor to Venice is required to pay an access fee directly to the Municipality of Venice, subject to various exclusions. The contribution is not necessary if you only and exclusively visit the islands of Murano, Torcello, and Burano
Know in advance:
- Participants will have approximately 1 hour in Murano (including the 10/15 minute glass-blowing demonstration) and 1 hour in Burano
- Electric wheelchairs cannot be accommodated
- The glass factory in Murano closes at 4 p.m., the last glassmaking demonstration of the day is at 3.30 p.m.
- To access the audio guides you need to download the related app from the Apple or Android store, more details can be found in the voucher
- The QR code on the ticket will allow access and audio guides for all the people in the group/family requested in the booking
- USB port for cell phone charging available on board
- Pets are allowed to travel for free
