The Mauritshuis is home to the best Dutch paintings of the 17th century from the age of Rembrandt and Vermeer. Situated in the heart of The Hague, the compact and world-renowned collection includes masterpieces such as Vermeer's 'Girl with the Pearl Earring', 'The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp' by Rembrandt, The 'Goldfinch' by Fabritius and 'The Bull' by Potter. See more than 200 pieces by Dutch and Flemish masters on display in the intimate exhibition rooms with silk wall coverings, sparkling chandeliers, and monumental painted ceilings.

From 13 February to 29 June 2025, the Mauritshuis will commemorate the liberation of the Netherlands, 80 years ago. Their art collection in storage, propaganda exhibitions, musical performances and people hiding for the Arbeitseinsatz – went through a very turbulent period during the German occupation. The exhibition 'Facing the Storm; A Museum in wartime' will focus on this special time in the history.
