What to expect

Enjoy a full-day safari into the Dhofar Mountains! You will drive through the scenic village of Taqah with a quick photo stop, then head into the evergreen Wadi Darbat for a relaxing stroll along the Wadi bed, surrounded by herds of camels, goats and local wildlife.

If you're visiting during the Khareef season (monsoon period), you may witness a natural waterfall showering into numerous lakes and feeding lush green vegetation. Your next stop will be one of the largest sinkholes (211 m deep & 150 m in diameter) in the world, located at Tawi Attair – also known as the “Well of Birds”, due to local birds being present all year round.

You will then continue your journey into the mountain range of Jebel Samhan and reach a breathtaking plateau at a height of almost 1700m. This location is commonly known as the "Grand Canyon‟ of Dhofar". After lunch, you will continue your journey from the plateau into the adjacent "Qara‟ mountain range and drive through the scenic Jebali villages and landscapes.
