What to expect
Admire the sunrise from Pico do Arieiro, the highest viewpoint of Madeira. Enjoy the sunrise while sipping a cup of tea or coffee and a buffet breakfast. Try some sandwiches, cake, biscuits, water, orange juice, fruit jam, cheese and ham. Before going back to the area of Camacha take a walk through the Paradise Valley where you'll be able to admire some endemic trees of the Laurissilva forest.
You can choose between three options: Half day guided tour (available from Tuesday to Saturday).The tour includes breakfast and the levada walk after sunrise.
Half day tour (available on Sunday only) , the breakfast is outdoors (or in a sheltered spot in case of rain or cold/windy weather) and the levada walk will be replaced by a 1-hour visit to Santo da Serra traditional arts, crafts and food market, which takes place only on Sundays.
Round trip transfer (available from Monday to Saturday). Without breakfast.
Important to know
Know in advance:
- This tour will take place rain or shine. If the weather/visibility conditions are not good enough to see the sunrise in Pico do Arieiro, the sunrise spot will change to the Santo da Serra Golf court or the Skywalk Viewpoint of Guindaste in Santana or the tip of the island Ponta de São Lourenço
- There are no refunds based on weather conditions, weather can be unpredictable, and the local operator is not responsible for low visibility in Pico do Arieiro, you'll be offered an alternative spot
- On Monday the tour is available without breakfast as the kitchen is closed on Mondays
- If you have any food allergies or dietary preferences, please inform the local operator. You will find contact details in your voucher after booking
