Discover the history of Lisbon on this full-day private city tour!
Drive through the city's historic neighborhoods, starting with Portas do Sol and Nossa Senhora do Monte belvederes. Wander the winding streets of one of Lisbon’s oldest areas, and visit the Lisbon Cathedral, the oldest church in the city. You'll then head to the Alfama, walk down twisting cobblestone streets and stairs lined with quaint cafés en route to Belém. Here, you'll learn how the city expanded during the period of the “Age of Discoveries.”
Next, you'll visit Jerónimos Monastery, one of Portugal’s architectural jewels, and see the defensive Belém Tower at the mouth of the River Tagus, and the Monument to the Ages of Discoveries. Enjoy free time for lunch and taste a traditional Pastel de Belém custard tart.
In the afternoon, you'll head back to the city center, following the 18th-century aqueduct and the famous Tram 28 route. In the Baixa area, you'll learn how Lisbon was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1755 before heading back to your hotel.
