Do this because

  • Discover Berlengas Island, an eco-haven full of history, sights, and beauty
  • Explore the internal and external caves of the Island, like the Elephant Cave
  • Find out why Furado Grande translates to the Big Hole and how far it stretches
  • Walk on your own around the island, following the many trails, beaches, and more
  • Admire Forte S. Joao Batista, and dig deeper into Portugal's coastal history

What to expect

Meet your guide and board a catamaran or zodiak/desportive yacht depending on the season or when the catamaran is full on the high season. Head toward Berlengas Island, an eco-haven with a visitor limit, so you can experience its true beauty without the crowds.

Admire the outside and inside different caves, like the Elephant cave, Dream cave, Furado Grande, and admire the waters while looking down through the glass-bottomed boat. Afterward, take some time on your own to explore the Island.

Look out over the turquoise waters from the beach. Walk up to the lighthouse and imagine yourself alone. Then understand more of Portugal's history by examining the remains of Forte S. Joao Batista and walk the Island's trails.
