Do this because

  • See the beautiful locations where season seven was filmed
  • Walk up the stairs to reach the church in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe
  • The perfect tour for GoT fans

What to expect

Visit the beautiful locations in the Basque Country where Game of Thrones season seven was filmed, such as Dragonstone and parts of King's Landing. On this guided tour, you will learn not only about what was filmed in each place but also about the local culture and heritage.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit the filming locations awarded in 2018 in the category “Outstanding Locations in a Period Television Series” by the Location Managers Guild International. You'll start at King's Landing Beach, filmed at Muriola Beach in Barrika. Visit the location where Davos, Tyrion and Gendry had to flee from the Gold Cloaks.

Next, continue the tour with a visit to the Dragonstone Fortress at San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Bermeo. Here is where Daenerys and Jon Snow meet for the first time. In real life, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is not a big castle but a small hermitage on the top of 241 steps located on the Basque coast.

Take a lunch break in Bermeo where you can enjoy pintxos, tapas, and local white wine called txakoli. Then pass by Gernika, a small town between Bermeo and Zumaia. Renowed for Picasso's touching namesake masterpiece, the town of Gernika has been for centuries the gathering place for representatives of the towns and villages of Biscay.

Finally, make your last stop at at Itzurun Beach in Zumaia, this 60 million-year-old beach was the perfect choice to set Dragonstone!
