Viking history full-day public tour

Unveil the mystery of the Swedish Viking History with an expert authorized guide and visit great Viking sites of cultural and archaeological interest. Watch beautiful rune stones and hear the stories they wish to tell you.

The tour will start from Broby bro, on of Sweden’s most famous Viking burial grounds. Learn about and visit Viking burials, both pagan and Christan. Hear what the runestones of this site can tell you and hear about Estrid, a mighty Viking woman. You'll move on to Jarlabanki's bridge, an old partly reconstructed Viking bridge, learning about Vikings lord, their power, bridges and road buildings, learn more about the mighty Jarlabanke kin group and their influence.

Next, you'll head on to Arkil Assembly site, a Viking Parliament where you can hear about Viking laws, the society of the Vikings and how decisions where made in the society and how disputes were settled. Moving forward to the beautiful wooden town of Sigtuna, also the oldest town of Sweden. Walk among the medieval church ruins, visit the museum and walk along the big street who still have the same stretching as it had in the Viking age.

Finish the tour in Old Uppsala and its Vendel Era grave mounds. Visit the king mounds at Old Uppsala, one of Swedens most important historical places. Visit the former medieval Cathedral, walk among the 11m high grave mounds while the guide goes through its rich and long history. You'll get a chance to take a walk around and inside the biggest church in the nordic countries: The Uppsala Cathedral, in the Uppsala city center.
