What to expect

Discover the Rhine Falls, Europe’s biggest waterfall, and visit the medieval town of Stein am Rhein on an afternoon coach excursion from Zurich. Travel along the Grand Tour of Switzerland to the medieval Laufen Castle by the falls and marvel at the exceptional frescoes in the well-preserved Old Town of Stein am Rhein.

You will journey along the Grand Tour of Switzerland through gently rolling vineyards and charming farming villages to Northern Switzerland near the border with Germany. You will then reach the splendid Laufen Castle for the first highlight of the afternoon: the mighty Rhine Falls! Enjoy about one hour at your leisure to explore Europe’s biggest waterfall and one of Switzerland’s major tourist attractions.

Next will follow a guided stroll through the winding alleys of the well-preserved Old Town, where, thanks to your guide, you'll learn the story behind the exceptional frescoes of the many distinctive buildings. Walk past the half-timbered houses to the White Eagle and admire the oldest preserved mural painting of the Renaissance in Switzerland. Last but not least, you'll enjoy some time at your leisure before meeting for the evening drive back to Zurich.
