Go back in time to the 18th Century to see what life was like for the Cherokee people of the North Carolina mountains.
Starting from entering the Oconaluftee Indian Village, you'll be surrounded by green vegetation and hear the sound of the flow of the mountain streams.
Next, you'll witness craft demonstrations by award-winning artists who will explain the unique Cherokee crafting techniques. Then, learn about Cherokee history in the living history section. Depending on the season, you may also enjoy special performances, such as 'Time of War' or traditional Cherokee dancing. There are also picnic tables with the Oconaluftee natives and souvenirs to purchase within the Gift Shop to have something to remember the experience.
