What to expect

Begin our journey with a scenic drive up Brockway Mountain, renowned for being the highest drive between the Allegheny and Rocky Mountains. Here, you'll be treated to panoramic views and excellent birdwatching opportunities. From there, continue on to Copper Harbor, the northernmost point of the Keweenaw Peninsula. This area is known for its untouched beaches and biking trails, and serves as the gateway to Isle Royale National Park via ferry.

Next on your itinerary is a visit to the historic Eagle Harbor Lighthouse and museum, where you can delve into Lake Superior's maritime history. Following this, you'll discover the Eagle River Waterfall, part of the Upper Peninsula's extensive network of over 300 waterfalls. This location offers scenic views and hiking opportunities.

Venture into Estivant Pines, home to ancient trees that tower over 125 feet tall, reminiscent of the West Coast's sequoias. Then, step back in time at Fort Wilkins, built in 1844, where history re-enactors bring the past to life. Admission is free with a Recreation Passport.

Your journey continues along Lake Superior, where you can admire volcanic rock formations and expansive vistas. Take a moment to pause for beachcombing or a swim on sunny days. Afterwards, explore Quincy Mine, affectionately known as "Old Reliable," for an underground tour and learn about the region's mining heritage at the nearby Cliff and Delaware Mines.

Conclude your adventure at The Jampot, a serene setting where monks bake using local ingredients. Here, you can indulge in boozy cakes and oversized muffins, providing a sweet end to your journey.
